Junior Sergeant Aleksandre Tetvadze had decided not to notify his family about the return, thus presenting them with a pleasant surprise. Alongside other family members he was met by his daughter who had been born during Tetvadze’s tour of duty in Afghanistan. A similarly unannounced visit was staged by Private Khvicha Kokoshvili for his family.
The remaining service members of the battalion are scheduled to return by April 23rd. They have been replaced in the mission by 42nd Battalion, IV Infantry Brigade.
