'We are going to protect our votes' - Nino Burjanadze
27 October, 2013
‘We are going to protect our votes’, Nino Burjanadze, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement, told journalists after the announcement of the exit poll results.
According to her, public opinion polls have become a mechanism for manipulation. ‘I am not aware of the exit poll results. It has been proven several times that sociology does not work in Georgia. An exit poll is a good opportunity to manipulate public opinion. So, I am not interested in exit poll results. I know what the situation on the ground is. We are going to protect our votes. We have more than 1000 suits’, Burjanadze said.
She called on observers not to weaken attention at the polling stations. ‘Now we are having the most difficult period, but we hope our observers will be efficient’, she said.
According to the exit polls Giorgi Margvelashvili from Georgian Dream coalition tops the list, with United National Movement candidate Davit Bakradze on the second place and Nino Burjanadze on the third.
