Dinamo Tbilisi played two matches during their pre-season preparations in Austria, facing Dinamo Kiev in a 0:1 loss before defeating Shakhtar Donetsk with a similar score on June 23.
Shakhtar - regular Champions League competitors who also feature in play-offs of the competition - fielded a strong side against the Georgian champions but were still defeated. Aside from the winning goal by Xisko - Dinamo' Spanish leader - another notable point of the game came from keeper Giorgi Loria, who saved a penalty on 49 minutes.
