Interview with Magiya Temirova, General Director of one of the most popular tour agencies in Astana
Together with another newspaper, Georgian Journal had an honor to be invited to the press tour to Kazakhstan for three days that coincided with the 15th anniversary of the new capital - Astana. This highly developed country in the Central Asia, which occupies the ninth place in the world according to its territory, is constantly developing and has a great potential, considering its rich natural resources. We offer the first interview that we recorded in its capital city of Astana – our respondent was Mrs. Magiya Temirova, General Director of Magic Travel agency.
G.J: Is your agency one of the most famous companies in the city?
M. T: It will be more accurate if we say ‘one of the most popular”. We have constant clients who love us and address us regularly for their holidays. Our advantage is that we are located near the House of the Ministries and the most of our clients are from the governmental circles;they are very influential people.
G.J: Do you offer incoming as well as outgoing tourism?
M.T: We do both. We work with Europe, Turkey, Emirates, etc. We try our best to pamper our clients and offer them any package they choose.
G.J: Is Georgia in your plans for the future?
M.T: Yes. We have contacts with your local company “Golden Georgia”. They offer very good programs, hotels and events in general. The Black Sea is loved here since the Soviet times. However, talks are not enough. The biggest problem is that there are no direct flights. We wait for the charters but there are none. However, if we pick up speed, hopefully, our company “Air Astana” will come up with some pleasant novelty. I must tell you that the interest is there. On behalf of our company as well as on behalf of the entire country, a lot of travel agencies are really keen on Georgian tours in Astana and Almaty as well. With our partners we have really close contacts. For instance, if somebody is coming from Turkey, their agencies will organize info tours to Kazakhstan and have a round and learn a lot. As the saying goes, ‘It’s better to see once than to hear for several times’. I can tell you that Georgian tour operators are always present at the international tourism expos and there are even several their stands.
G.J: I wish you success and we are waiting for tourists from Kazakhstan.
M.T: Thank you. We should be more active and we’ll overcome problems without the interference of governments. Business-to-business relations are absolutely possible when there is a will.
