As any other nation of today, Georgia could also be thought of as a miniature melting pot with Abkhazians, Armenians, Azeris, Byelorussians, Bulgarians, Estonians, Germans, Greeks, Jews, Moldavians, Ossetians, Poles, Russians, Turks and Ukrainians living, working and mixing together, but the question is if we are turning into a truly homogenous and harmonious society  as a result of our being stirred within the same crucible?

I will be seventy next spring, and I have seen a fair amount of both love and hatred in my lifetime. I somehow used to cope with the sensation of love (in both directions) better than with hatred. 

The well-known battle-cry ‘Patria o Muerte’ is no longer trendy. Probably! The sense of patriotism is escaping the globalized world of today.

Socialism’s worst proclivity is taking smiles off of people’s faces and leaving them without it for a long, long time. And I have not the faintest idea how it manages to do this. I have flown almost every operating airline in the world, and therefore, I have gotten well enough versed in what you call the ‘smile industry’.

Who said the United States of America is a young country? Probably those who do not know how old the republic and the democracy are there! Who said it is the land flowing with milk and honey where dollars are growing on trees like green leaves?

What do we call the current Russian-Georgian relations? Is it an unfortunate marriage, a vituperative divorce, a dysfunctional family, a marriage of inconvenience or a love in hatred? Maybe all of those welded together!

Pens around the world go blunt and dry writing on the topic, but it is still fun to put a word in. Christmas – the most glorious and radiant day in the Christian world and beyond it! Christmas – birthday of Son of God, the most profusely talked about and the utterly influential divine being in the entire Universe!

To be or never to be again – that is the most crucial question one can ask a dreamer about a bottoms-up vibrant democracy in Russia. The generous and genetically-patient Russian people have finally come to believe that enough is enough.

We both are about politics – GJ and me! Isn’t this but natural? Actually, we were born into politics together, the same exactly day. We both are trying our best to stay away from scandalous politicking, but we can’t help being into serious politics and government business.
