Electrical wiring was supposedly the source of the July 16 fire in Tbilisi Aquapark that left some of the park attractions destroyed. The exact area of destruction and financial damage inflicted is not yet established.
Attractions located next to bungalows were burned down by the fire, while others were unaffected. Employees of the park said they expected it would take several days to get the venue back to work.
Lawyer of the venue Amiran Giguashvili said he would not exclude the possibility of deliberate action for causing the fire, noting the inquiry worked with a number of versions for the cause of the incident but stating they would not be able to confirm any information at this time. The lawyer said the financial loss amounted to several hundred thousand Lari and noted the park had been insured at Aldagi Insurance Company for five years now.
