New Funicular Complex in Tbilisi

The renovation of former Funicular restaurant building - overlooking Tbilisi from Mtatsminda hilltop - has been completed. The new complex by GMT Group has included several areas, with café and confectionery Pur-Guliani - offering confections and fresh salads – on the left side of the first floor of the renovated building and restaurant Chela on the right side of the same floor oriented on Georgian and meat meals; the second floor features a lounge and a bar with the famous panorama created by painter Koka Ignatov and a chain chandelier by designer Barlas Baylar; the same floor also holds restaurant Funicular, while the third floor features an event hall equipped with audio and concert systems. The complex is set to be commissioned on June 29.
The historical Funicular building is dated from 1936-1938 and is considered an architectural monument of Tbilisi.
