“The incident about beating of TV Company founder will not be investigated”

Joint training of Independent Association of Georgian Journalists and International Federation of Journalists in Batumi

Up to 20 journalists from across Georgia were gleaning their safety skills at the Batumi 3-day-long training dedicated to the professional work of journalists in conflict areas, as well as rules of their behavior and safety. Founder of TV Company Maestro Replies to Ivanishvili

The statement of Bidzina Ivanishvili about his readiness to buy any Georgian TV channel which has a license for news broadcasting, caused discontent among media representatives. Mamuka Ghlonti, one of the founders of TV Company Maestro called this offer as arrogant.

It’s more than two weeks that according to the corresponding order of revenue service, financial inspection of MediaPalitra has stopped.

Last week bank account of ‘Kavkasia’ TV was frozen twice. According to the revenue service declaration, it allegedly happened due to computer system.

Shalva Ramishvili, the author and host of ‘Without Accreditation’, the popular program on TV Maestro, was detained by the police at the private residence of the President in Kvareli (East Georgia), and forced to hand over the video camera. In his interview with newspaper ‘Mteli Kvira’ (Entire Week) he noted that the police did not return the microphone and flash cards (chips). ‘I was shooting a video dedicated to the vineyard of Saakashvili,’ – said Shalva Ramishvili.

Results of the ongoing financial audit in MediaPalitra may be checked by independent auditors, newspaper Kviris Palitra informs.

30 more days for inspection

Financial audit of 6 ‘MediaPalitra’ organizations will continue for one more month. The controllers presented the order about extension of checking period, adding that the extra time is needed for analysis of documents. As they say, they may even not need to come to ‘MediaPalitra’ and will carry out the analysis at the revenue office.
