`Thieves world` member detained in Georgia

In the course of investigation it was established that detainee had been previously convicted several times for committing grave crimes. He admitted to be the member of the so called “thieves world” and his participation in criminal skirmishes, as a result of which he demanded cash for the so called “obshiak” in different amounts from civilians, threatened and intimidated them. Investigators also ascertained that Malkhaz Ts. was in criminal alliance with the criminal group detained on July 1 for the membership of the so called “thieves world”.
Investigation is in progress under the article 2231 I part of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The committed crime envisages from 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
