For her, painting is not a mere technique of creatin g the pieces of art, but something more important. That’s why, one of the most prominent Georgian artists advised her not to leave the department of arts, as her style didn’t fit any frames. Kristine Robakidze followed this wise advice. Now she is an art historian and a self-taught painter but a very interesting one and nobody will ever dare to confer to her any limits and particular genres, as her talent is limitless and her ideas and fantasy are endless. Her exhibition with the interrogative title “Angel, Where Is Your Shadow?” opened on April 28, at Georgian National Library.

In 2011, by the decision of UNESCO, April 30, was proclaimed to be an International Day of Jazz. Its goal was to highlight the global importance of jazz and realize how it has penetrated into numerous cultures. UNESCO has ratified the mandate of celebrating the event that would boost the communication and understanding among nations. This year, Georgia too has joined the 70 countries celebrating this day, marking the date by the concert of Tbilisi Municipality Big Band and its friends at the Tbilisi Event Hall.

On April 26, Museum of Art presented over 100 works of Vladimer Kandelaki in painting and graphic art.
The painter’s works are multifaceted, which is confirmed by his diverse creativity. His artworks represent the synthesis of plastics and dynamics, realism and imagination. Thanks to his original and peculiar style, Vladimer Kandelaki used to astonish the public. Since 1990, his many expositions have taken place in Tbilisi, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta – this is an incomplete list of towns, where his personal exhibitions were held. Within the years, the painter’s virtuoso technique becomes more and more sophisticated, while he is carrying on new experiments.

On April 18, the personal exhibition of Levan Mosiashvili titled “Georgia in Love” opened at the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia. The painter has been working in France for the past 18 years and is one of the most successful Georgian artists in Europe. This fact was confirmed by his personal expositions held at various prestigious galleries of different countries. This is his first exhibition in his homeland.

Stacey Kent, born in New Jersey, USA, has moved to UK to study there. Since 1990, her career was taking off at Cafe Boheme in London’s Soho. Her first album ‘Close your Eyes’ was released in 1997. Since then, Kent released 9 albums. In 2002, Stacey received BBC Award as the Best Vocalist. Her Albums ‘The Boy Next Door’ and ‘Breakfast on the Morning Tram’ have been certified Golden and Platinum discs in France. In 2011, Stacey released an album titled ‘Dreamer in Concert’, which is the first live album of hers, recorded at La Cigale Theatre, Paris. The Georgian audience had a pleasure to listen to ‘Dreamer In Concert’ live at Tbilisi Event Hall on April 20.
