I could not call Ivanishvili a friend, as we are entirely different kinds of people, President Mikheil Saakashvili told the host of Rustavi2 program Nanuka’s Show.
Saakashvili said he never held close relation with Ivanishvili but noted the latter had “intensive” contact with former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili. The President said he could not recall an instance of Ivanishvili financing equipment for police during the National Movement’s tenure in government and also said Ivanishvili considered late businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili as the main “threat” to himself.
