Justin Timberlake performed for Barack and Michelle Obama at the White House last night.
The 'Mirrors' hitmaker topped the bill for the U.S. President's celebration of soul music from Memphis, Tennessee - the singer's hometown - at the latest 'In Performance at the White House' concert, performing alongside the likes of soul legend Booker T. Jones, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper and Ben Harper, CTV News informs.
The 32-year-old star serenaded the couple and a private audience in the East Room of the White House in Washington, D.C. with a cover of Otis Redding's '(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay', while Steve Cropper, who wrote the song along with Otis, looked on and appeared to be impressed by the crooner's take on the soulful hit.
The event marks the 10th 'In Performance' concert at the White House since President Obama first took office in 2009. The concerts celebrate America's rich musical history, with the latest gig particularly focusing on soul music from the south.
The usually reserved president was seen bobbing his head, tapping his feet and mouthing lyrics to the performances, reports the Washington Post newspaper.
Obama also exchanged words with Justin and wife Jessica Biel, 31, who accompanied the 'Suit & Tie' singer to the event.
Announcing the engagement of two White House staff members, he encouraged the happy couple to seek wedding tips from Justin and Jessica, who tied the knot last year.
According to the USA Today newspaper, the president then quipped: "Justin, they are looking for a wedding singer, just sayin'."

There is lots of talk about the economy and money and there doesn't seem to be much money circulating around. Orders are down, and some say there is little foreign investment. The main problem is not that there is little foreign investment, it is that those businesses with money in Georgia aren't spending it or putting it in the economy by expanding or establishing new businesses. The reason they aren't doing this is fear.

I have said about the President’s role that he/she should not be identified with one given Party, and should not represent a single Party. I am no longer the leader of my Party, where I have only an honorary title, but would not think about joining another one or creating a nes one. I do not believe in politicians changing parties as they change shirts, which has been a bad habit for some people in Georgian politics.”
